Established in 1999, until 2006 the Joan Brossa Foundation developed its activities from the headquarters at Roger by Llúria street, in Barcelona. In order to accomplish one of the main objectives of the Foundation, to disseminate the poet's work, the 30th May 2006 a permanent exhibition space was inaugurated. Here the public can admire the different genres Joan Brossa worked on: object poems, visual poems, installations, artist books, posters, films. The visitors can also buy books, catalogues, graphic works and merchandising.
This space, located at Provença, 318, between Roger by Llúria and Pau Claris streets, wants to become a reference point for Joan Brossa's work and, consequently, there is a program of activities on the work and the world of the artist.

CURRENT EXHIBITION : ESSENTIAL BROSSA
This exhibition, curated by Lluís M. Riera, is the first to be shown at the recently created exhibition centre at the Joan Brossa Foundation. The works on display, selected from the Foundation’s collection, constitute a sample of the different genres explored by the artist. The exhibition is structured around the following genres: object poems, visual poems, posters, installations, artist books and various editions of Brossa’s literary production, as well as a series of photographs of other object and concrete poems. Moreover, audiovisual material, theatre plays, short films, interviews and documentaries about Brossa’s life and work may be viewed so as to gain an overview of the figure of Joan Brossa. The collection enables us to discover the essential aspects of Brossa’s world with representative works from each of the fields in which his poetry developed.
